Eminem’s Controversial MJ Outfit Hits the Auction Block

Eminem stans take note. Earlier today (July 27), several of the rapper’s signature items went up for bid online as part of The Rock and Roll Pop Art Auction.

Among the pricey digs is a blood splattered white suit jacket made by Lucelli that Em wore at the photo shoot for his 2004 album Encore. Also hitting the auction block for a minimum bid of $1,000 is one of the rap superstar’s black Nike Air sweatsuits.

The most interesting and expensive item up for sale is the Michael Jackson outfit Em sported in his controversial 2004 video for “Just Lose It.” The Detroit MC caught a lot of flack for poking fun of Jackson in the clip, with the King of Pop himself even calling into the Steve Harvey radio show to voice his displeasure with the spoof, calling it “outrageous and disrespectful.” BET eventually banned the video from the network. The minimum bid on the getup–which includes a red sequined jacket and white glove, as well as a black hat, pants and shoes–is $6,000.

Legendary hip-hop group Run-D.M.C. also have an item up for sale. Bids on their “Raising Hell” T-shirt start at $25.

The Auction starts today and will run through August 5 on gottahaverockandroll.com. - Max G

Nas ordered to pay Kelis $44k a month…more than Diddy or 50 Cent

The day after Kelis gives birth to Knight Jones, a judge orders Nas to pay some hefty child and spousal support…

The Associated Press reports:
A judge [Judge Louis Meisinger] has ordered Nas to pay Kelis nearly $44,000 in monthly support for the near future…
The two have been sparring over support payments for several months, with Kelis contending that Nas hasn’t paid many of the costs of her pregnancy and her expenses. Nas’ attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told the judge that the rapper has paid some expenses and the former couple’s health insurance has been maintained.

Kaplan proposed paying Kelis a one-time payment of $20,000 until the judge could settle on an appropriate spousal and child support amount at a later hearing.

Meisinger rejected that offer, saying more money per month would be needed to accommodate Kelis’ lifestyle and was warranted based on income declarations filed with the court.

Note: this report seems to say that this is a preliminary ruling, but it probably doesn’t help that Nas was reportedly less than proactive after Kelis’ early filings. Also, the state of Cali is the “she took half” state, right? The fact that Kelis and Nas were married seems like it’s also a big factor, as opposed to Diddy vs. Kim Porter’s alleged $20k ruling, and 50 Cent vs Shaniqua’s $6,700 a month ruling.

Twista Hits #1, Comments On Independence

Twista’s foray into independence has proven to be successful, as his sixth studio album Category F5 has landed at #1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart and #8 on the Top 200 Albums Chart.

Category F5 was the first release in a new partnership between Twista’s Get Money Gang Entertainment (GMG) and EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution. '

EMI provides the promotion, press, online marketing, tour services and other duties for Twista’s GMG imprint, which is run and co-owned by Twista’s manager Rawle Stewart and Henley Halem.

"It really says something when you sell more independently than you do on a major label,” Twista told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “I really have the fans, EMI and radio to thank for this great accomplishment in my career. Times are changing and I'm glad I chose to partner with EMI to help form a new business model that benefits all parties involved especially the artist."

Twista’s album continues EMI’s hot streak with the Hip-Hop genre, as it’s the label’s fourth #1 debut Hip-Hop/R&B album in a row this year.

EMI Label Services notched #1 album’s with Trina’s Still Da Baddest, Ice Cube’s Raw Footage, Bobby V.’s The Rebirth and now Twista’s Category F5.

Bun B Snags Drake & Jamie Foxx For New Single?

Fresh off the success of “Got Money” and now “Halle Berry,” Dallas producers Play-N-Skillz have been cookin’ up beats for a number of high-profile acts, including fellow Texan Bun B for a possible collaboration with Drake.

“It’s going to be the official single off of Bun B’s new album,” Play, one half of the brotherly production duo, told XXL about the track. “Drake and Jamie Foxx were supposed to be on the song. We didn’t actually do a session, it was just talked about and [Bun’s people] were gonna go through with it. Drake’s schedule just got crazy—his buzz just exploded—so I don’t know where we are with all that.”

Drake last hooked up with Bun for the chopped and screwed cut “Uptown” from his breakthrough So Far Gone mixtape. If everything goes according to plan, Drake will also be re-uniting with Foxx once again as well, as the T. Dot MC recently dropped a verse on a remix to “Digital Girl.”

As of press time there is no additional information regarding Bun’s upcoming album.

Joe Budden To Inspectah Deck: "I'm going to tear him up for fun"

A full-fledged lyrical feud has broken out between Inspectah Deck of the Wu Tang Clan and Joe Budden, who now represents for Slaughterhouse.

While Budden has yet to respond in song, Deck has released a song called “House N***a,” where he proclaims “the war is on.”

The lyrical beef is a result of Joe Budden expressing that he was a greater emcee than Method Man in a tourney of the best rappers alive by now-defunct Vibe magazine.

"When I first heard the Inspectah Deck s**t I thought it was weak but I said, 'Aight I'm going to tear him up for fun," Budden said on BlogTV, a site he uses for live video blogging. "I just wish somebody else would've responded, not him... Me and Raekwon talked it out, me and Busta Rhymes already spoke. Now here you come...”

Budden didn’t say that he would definitely respond, but he did sent some barbed words for Deck.

“While Inspectah Deck may be considered a legend for the one great verse he had in his 30 year career, it's 2009...We'll see how it all plays out. We gotta see how it goes down when I get into the studio,” Budden continued. “He should be dissing RZA for not paying him. When Saigon dissed me, my next dis track was the fact that I got paid from his dis track. I don't think people really use their heads. He rapped on 'Pump It Up.' Me and Just [Blaze] got paid for it."

On the song, Deck admits to defending Method Man, who refused to entertain a battle with Budden.

On his blog, Budden suggested that he may use the feud to push his Slaughterhouse album with Crooked I, Royce Da 5’ 9” and Joell Ortiz.

“Honestly, dude ain't worth responding to... But I DO have an album coming out.. Mite be buzzworthy to cook dude.. We'll see,” Budden wrote.

R.I.P Michael Jackson

Yesterday over 2 billion people were watching Michael Jackson's funeral. To some of us this was the moment that it was clear to us that the King of Pop, a legend, has left us for good. Many celebrities came to pay tribute to MJ with their songs and others with their words and express how Michael Jackson affected all of us. Al Sharpton pointed out how MJ broke down barriers and made it possible for people like Oprah Winfrey and Barack Obama to be where they are today.

Music is said to bring people together and the King of Pop did just that when alive and it seems that even after he has passed away he still succeeds in bringing people together. Many people gathered on Times Square, in Harlem, Indiana and all over the world to pay a last tribute to the greatest entertainer ever. MJ saw music as his mission and he had a bog heart. When alive he always strived to make this world a better place and to touch people with is music. No one has been where he has and no one will succeed in acheiving and doing what he has done. MJ will continue in our hearts and I'm sure that even future generations will hear from him and that his music will continue to touch many hearts.

R.I.P Michael Jackson
